I finally was able to get some signage in our city park to help deal with the hunting/poaching of the domestic geese.
All of the geese in these photos are now gone. I shot one of the photos in my front yard. That's how friendly they were.
Click & Clack, Mack, Gabby and Louie...
And before them, Jack, Frack, Zack, and Click & Clack's parents.
The human predator is despicable.

I am sorry that you have had to witness the theft of these beautiful creatures.
A part of me wants to sarcastically state that the city officials blundered here and did not print the sign in the proper language.
Another part of me also wants to sarcastically state that in the name of "cultural competence", we should embrace the "redistribution" of these geese to other locales and persons that will use these fine creatures in their unique cultural ways -- and we need to embrace it.
I used to live nearby that very same park and I believe that it is one of the gems of the town.
Dr. R is correct: wrong language. And Jen, is it McClatchy Park? Also, historically, the Romans (and drug dealers now in forest areas) used geese as alarms for approaching strangers.

wonderful comment Dr. R. I wonder how our "culture" would be embraced in another country. And isn't theft still regarded as theft, everywhere in the world?
and BZ - the park is Wm. Land Park. I live across the street from one of the ponds where the geese used to live. Unfortunately, I hear the attackers at 4-5 in the morning as the geese do sound the alarms when they are attacked. But they are being rousted while it is still dark and their defenses are down.
