Barack Obama is a horrific, elitist snob. And it is as painful watching him trying to bowl in middle America, as it was watching the haughty John Kerry walk into a hunting store and announce, "I gotta get me a gun." Barack and wife Michelle aspired, planned, strategized, and schemed their way to elitism. Now they have it and can practically taste the food on the White House china, think they can bluff their way into the hearts of the people they most disdain.
No state college was good enough for either of them. The blue-bloods with whom they were desperate to become friends with, would have turned their noses up in distaste.
If you read nothing else this week, please read the Townhall.com column by Mary Grabar, titled Yes, Barack Obama, We Are Bitter:
"We know who you’re talking about, Barack Obama, when you talk about Pennsylvania and the Midwest, about small towns where the jobs have left. We know who you’re talking about when you talk about those who “get bitter” and “cling to guns or religion.”
You’re talking about “those people.”
You’re talking about white people who have neither the family connections nor the racial credentials to gain entrance to the world that you inhabit. Many of the people you’re talking about are those whose parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents were immigrants from Central and Eastern Europe who came to these places to work in steel mills, coal mines, and factories. We know the code words.
You’re talking about people whose culture is little known. We have been pretty quiet. We never tried to impose our culture on everyone. We never insisted on putting pictures of ourselves in our native dress into schoolbooks or mandating that our stories and songs be part of the curriculums."

If Obama is elected (and that possibility does quite exist), you can predominantly count on our economy continuing to spiral down, taxes to spiral up, and those in poverty to be every bit as poor or even moreso.
BZ
BZ is quite right, only the poor will be told with greater frequency and volume that Barak CARES! Socialism is such a poor preforming and inadequately designed organizing system that it only leads to more misery, as history has shown us over and over again, each time it's attempted. IMO it is evidence of Mankind's great hubris to think that a person can somehow MAKE IT WORK - when it's really a non-operational though-figment.
I view the race as a comedy show.
I don't think it matters to the economy much who is elected, because the Federal Reserve has a much bigger influence.
Obama does want to raise the social security earnings cap, and that would be disasterous, but I doubt he gets too far with that one.
Other than that, I think both Obama and Hillary are saying anything and everything to get elected. They have to go for their base now, but when someone wins, they'll move to the middle otherwise McCain will smoke 'em.
